THERE IS HOPE...CHECK THIS OUT

Hello, my name is Patrick I live in San Francisco and work for Genentech. It is a medical research company that has done vast amounts of research with stem cells. Stem cells are like blank cells or think of them as blank CD's ready to be recorded with any information you want to put on them. Now we call them Alpha cells ( Greek letter for the first or A ) now with these Alpha cells we can inject them with the cooresponding RNA or DNA chromosonal code and the cells then become new cells taking on the characteristics of the injection locale or cells that have been damaged. They ( the cells) then form new healthy cells to replace the damaged cells through mitosis. Or the splitting of cells. Eventually all the damaged cells are replaced by new healthy cells. The National Institute of Health has recently featured an article from Iranian dermatologists that injected adult stem cells into a vitiligo patient, he was cured. 100%. Period. He does not have vitiligo anymore. Now the only drawback here is research has been limited through government law we are limited by what we are allowed to do. We must use the same cells without extracting new ones which limits our ability to move forward . However, with our new President he is going to lift the ban on stem cells research so we can move forward. And with the FDA making sure all treatments and medicines are tested thoroughly it can take time for cures to come from other places. But we know the cure now. We just need to be able to do our research. As you know the pigment is formed by melanin, melanin formed by tyrosine and phenylalnine both amino acids all we need to do is stop the body from destroying the cells. Because vitiligo is an auto immune disorder we could theoretically repigment your body by grafts and UB narrow band therapy. But the body auto immune response would eventually kill them. So all we need is the stem cells to cure this. So dont worry the cure is here and all we need is a few more months as soon as the stem cell ban is lifted and we can get the cure out there. It will not be long. Dont worry. In less than 5 years you will have all your pigment back and be cured of vitiligo I would bet money on it. And as a scientist I never gamble. But this is something that you can relax knowing you will not have to deal with this for very long.

  1. This makes no sense. The stem cells used were adult stem cells, which are abundant and easy to obtain. It makes no sense whatsoever that if this indeed cures vitilgo it should not be available immediately. Also, please provide a link to the Iranian study.

  3. Hi Kelly

My name is Janine. I was browsing through youtube when I came across a video by kyscott1. I have had vitiligo since the age of 7 and now I am 21. My vitiligo is extensive. It covers my face, neck, elbow, hands, legs, and feet. Through out the years my hope for a vitilgo free future has faded and really want to be rid of the disorder. I really would like to know where you got the artical by Patrick.

    Thank you for your time

  4. I have been taking a Cell Activator pills (2 in the morning and 2 at night) for a month an a half and some white spots are getting little brown spots. It think this is a good sign. I take 15 min of sun when is not too hot. Avoid soft drinks and sugar as much as possible, no caffeine.

  5. You are a beautiful woman. I wouldn't let the vitiligo get you down. It makes you approachable.

    Best of luck.

I have had Vitiligo for 25 years. The best results I have had is with diet. I read a book that talks about Folic acid and the intake of green leafy vegetables. I have had spots completely repigment with that method. I also tried a million therapies with sometime worse results.

  6. It's strange how beautiful people would have vitiligo, perhaps it's to balance the world and make us "humans" realize that we're not perfect. vitiligosupport has been a great site for people that have vitiligo. I am a member for the past 5 years. Every time I log on to that site, I wish that they have a big banner that says " the cure for vitiligo is avail at your local doctors office" but each time it's with disappointment. I still hold hope and if this gene cell thing works, I'll sell my house and car to pay for the cure.

  7. Kelly,

I was just watching the Lee Thomas you tube video when I came across yours. I have had Vitiligo for the past 16 years. Im 18 now. Ive not heard of many people getting vit as young as I did, and I dont remember my life with out it. Yes, having vit with all the questions and looks is hard when you are not dressed to cover it, but you and I are lucky. Vit usually appears on the face and hands, where you cannot hide it. Both of us can hide it pretty easily and you do not see it unless your wearing specifc clothing. And for that, we should be thankful. It might just be that I have had more time to accept my vit and learn that it is a part of me, and not a bad part, but I hope that in time you will learn to love yours. Especialy if it spreads. My goal with my vit is to educate others. I hardly told anyone until my junior year in high school. Then, when I would hear someone degrading someone they saw with spots, I was all over them. No one really understood why until I was asked by a teacher to come out and share my story with my class. Then, my high school clothing choices really seemed to click for people. They were accepting of me and even asked me questions about it and asked to see it. I hope that when they went to college they will know what it is when they see it on someone else. If you explain to to someone, about what it is and how you feel, when that someone sees another person with vit they will know that it is and how that person feels. Which just might things a little bit easier for that next person. As hard as it is sometimes to look at yourself spotted sometimes, just remember that this is what makes you different. In a good way.

  13. please as soon as someone finds the cure tell us all. I been having vitiligo since i was 11 years old. I'm now 25 in may. I can't remember myself without them. I hope that we find the cure soon. People don't realize that this is such a emotional problem. I understand that there is people with worse diseases out there but this is one too and they don't think is as serious as it really is.

  14. This is pretty cool, thanks for making this website! (:
I've had Vitiligo since I was I think 6 or 7, I'm 14 now. I have times when I feel like, it's what has made me how I am and other times when I feel like I am the ugliest thing on Earth. Over time, I have realized how I can pray over it and how I can just deal with it/ accept it. I am how I am.
I also kinda glad that with friends and family and in the future(bahaha), my husband or whatever, will see me like with this because then I know that they love me for what isn't just revealed on the surface.
Surprisingly enough, almost everyone I know, even myself at times, forget about my legs being two completely opposite colors. (I am white, but I am SUPER SUPER tan all year round so, it's pretty noticeable.) I really enjoy that amazing feeling of being safely accepted with who I am, even with my Vitiligo... (especially when people claim that I'm "hot" or "beautiful". haha. I know I'm young, but everyone has or will be my age at sometime, and I think it's just something that happens...?)
I've also realized that had I not experienced Vitiligo, I would probably be VERY VERY conceited and my personality probably would have varied drastically from what it is now.
The only thing I worry about is in the future, how (possibly) in the future, my kids(NOT going to happen anytime soon... I haven't even held a guys hand before) will feel about my appearance, I hope that they will not feel like it is their problem or that they will feel ashamed to be with me... You know like, I didn't just choose my friends, my friends chose me as well. Whereas my future children won't choose me.

I guess I'll just keep praying, and I'm hoping that somehow this might possibly enlighten your day in some way, because it definitely has improved mine, just knowing there are people who I can sympathize with. :D And on top of all, life is only so long, embrace the day as it comes so when you die, you feel like there was nothing more or less that you could have done with it.

  16. I have had vitiligo since I was 10 years old and now I am 31. I know how you all feel. I have had people ask me if I had AIDS because of it. There is nothing I want more than to find a cure that works and that I can afford. I would really like to find out more information about the stem cell research. I would also like to know if they need any volunteers for that. I would possibly like to be a volunteer but would want to talk to someone more about it first. I have to make sure the risks aren't too great because I am a single mom and need to be around and healthy to take care of my children. I have had vitiligo for 21 years now and it covers the majority of my body. The only good news I found out about it was that it could not be passed on to my children because I was not born with it. That was one of my biggest fears because I know what I went through growing up and never wanted them to have to go through that. So far neither of my children have it. I pray everyday that they don't get it and that someone finds a cure for it. Please post any new information about the stem cell research.

    1. Don't mean to burst you bubble, but I'm pretty sure it can be passed down. In my family, my grandfather had it, my mom & both her siblings, and my sister. I do not have it, but recently my daughter (age 6) has just developed it. That is way too much of a coincidence, genetics must be involved.

  17. ive had it since i was like 12 or 13 and im now almost 18. i have it on random places on my body; my elbows, stomach, legs and feet. i loove being tan but it only makes it show up more. Ive been talking with my dermatologist forr the past year now & hes given me a cream that i use on the spots that over time is supposed to cause repigmentation. ive also just started doing puva light treatment twice a week (covered by my insurance!!!) there havent been any result yet but theyve shown me pictures of people who have been cured by them & it usually takes about 6 months to a year to cure. which is completely fine with me, a year is nothing if that means i can go through the rest of my life without it. its hard i know, but with all the technology out there itll be anyday now therell be a cure. good luck though guys. if u have any questions about the light treatment or anything relevant feel free to email me alisfreakin@aol.com

  20. Hi all, I have had vitiligo (face and right hand) since I was 28yo old. I was scuba diving in carribean when I got a really bad sunburn. Before the trip ended the white spots started appearing. For the next 20yrs I searched for a cure, but never found anything. About 6 months I went a new doctor at john hopkins dermatology department for routine a cancer screening.

As soon as the doctor walked in she looked at me ask how long have I had the vilitigo... I told her my story and she said that a treatment she has done will be back the pigment in my face but probably not my hand ( hand are harder because your continuously using them and the steroid wipes off).

I really want to try since she said it would take a 100 session of UVB light and how would look during the treatment. But I finally agreed. Well, at my office no talked for a while because my face really red from the light treatment and either greasy from the ointment I had to put on. It was really depressing but I had two thing going me .... My wife and god to keep my spirits up.... Well it's only been 26 treatments later ... And my face is totally repigmented!!! It seems my skin is an over achiever.

So, if your interested... The doctor has me using two meds ( protopic ointment - twice a day, and a steroid -mometasone furoate cream for one week once a month) the light Therapy UVB is three times a week for ( various amounts of seconds to get my skins red to active the melocites)

So that's my story.... Good Luck ... God Bless .... Spread the word.

  21. Ive tried the UVB treatments but was getting burned so bad I wouldn't dare going in public. I stopped after about 6 treatments. I did notice slight repigmentation but couldnt deal with how it made my face look. I just recently decided to say screw what everyone else thinks. I am using protopic .1% and drastically changing my diet. No beer, less gluten, no Caffiene. I also found a user on Facebook "vitiligo vsig" who sells a natural ointment which looks to have great results. I may try that as well. I'd go 100k into debt to cure this disease. It has changed my personality from being outgoing and being able to approach girls to me having my head down not daring to look at someone in the face.

  24. Some can slow down the progression of vitiligo by following a low-fat, low-protein, high-carb (from fruits and veggies) diet (aka 80/10/10). Avoid polyunsaturated fats as they are sensitive to the higher levels or oxidants present in melanocytes. Avoid saturated fats as they are inflammatory. Avoid extra proteins as the excess accumulation of mis-folded proteins in melanocytes triggers an inflammatory response. Reduce exposure to phenols, catechols & certain derivatives as they are converted by TYRP1 enzyme in melanocytes to semi-quinones, free radicals that leads to damaged lipids and proteins. Unfortunately they are ubiquitous and are found as in both man-made materials and natural foods (ie citrus, chilies, apple skin, grape skin, almond skin, onions, tea, coffee, etc).

  25. I had vitiligo for 8 years now and I had tried different treatments (PUVA, topical steroid, meladinine cream/solution with exposure to sunlight/PUVA, oral meladinine, oil of bergamot). The vitiligo covered my neck, and one-fourth of my face. I looked for another dermatologist because i lost hope with my past dermatologists. Then somebody recommended me a good natural treatment and it worked very well. Now i'm 90% cured. With only 1 1/2 month of treatment. Watch this review, it helped me a lot: www.naturalvitiligotreatmentsystems.com
